Barcelona Spain, March 19th, 2020 – Softonic, the world’s largest software and app discovery destination, today announced that tech executive and entrepreneur Marc Monguió has been appointed Vice President of Product and Engineering for the company.
Previously, Monguió was CEO and CTO for JobFluent, a leading European jobs marketplace specialised in Software Engineering roles, where he grew the company to become a leader in its segment in the Spanish market, later selling the company.
A serial entrepreneur, prior to JobFluent, Monguió founded and was CEO of Kitebit, a turnkey solution specialized in the film (streaming), music and publishing industries.
In his capacity as Vice-President of Product and Engineering, Marc will join the Softonic Leadership Team, reporting directly to CEO, Scott Arpajian. “Marc is the right person to lead Softonic’s product and engineering efforts into the future, given his strong product vision and proven ability to drive results,” said Arpajian. “I am pleased that Marc will lead these efforts and I am excited to work with him — along with our entire senior leadership team — to ensure Softonic’s next phase of growth and market leadership in the software and app discovery space.”
The appointment marks a laser-sharp strategic focus on product development and excellence in engineering, a challenge of which Monguió said “I am excited to join Softonic and Iook forward to work closely with the team, to chart a path for the company in continuing to provide our millions of users worldwide everything they need in software and apps to help them solve their biggest technology challenges.”
Monguió holds an MBA from ESADE Business School. He is also a Bachelor of Computer Science and a Bachelor of Multimedia Engineering from the Universitat Ramon Llull in Barcelona, Spain.
